One of the largest & best Victorian crosses I’ve had in the shop. It measures over 4” inches long, is made from Vulcanite, & features a beautiful rose motif. Is it a mourning jewel? Maybe: Just because a piece of Victorian clothing or jewelry is black does NOT mean it was worn during mourning. Then, as now, people wore cross shaped jewelry & the color black all the time. That said, vulcanite was also a popular material for mourning jewelry as it offered a less expensive alternative to carved jet. It would be suitable for a later stage of mourning.
Condition is excellent with just a very small, hairline crack on the side of the horizontal part of the cross, as shown.

- All sales are FINAL. I strive to provide clear photos & accurate information for every item, & to anticipate any questions you may have. It is the buyer's responsibility to examine these photos clearly & read the description in full before purchasing. If you have any other questions or require further views, you've only to ask.

- Orders ship once a week. If you need something by a certain date, please let me know before purchasing. I am almost always able to accommodate requests.
- Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. If you choose not to insure your order, I will not be held responsible for lost or stolen packages.
