Very good Victorian mourning parasol in usable condition. It folds up for easy storage or transport. You straighten the handle, slide down the metal cover over the joint, then push up the canopy like you would with a regular umbrella. When fully open, the parasol measures about 18” in diameter and 19” from the bottom of the canopy to the bottom of the handle. The canopy is made of black cotton with fragile silk underneath and the handle is carved and painted black wood. Some minor surface soiling from age to the canopy, one small hole, and about an inch of fabric missing on one edge, all shown. Overall the piece displays beautifully and would be easily restored to perfect condition by someone with a little more patience than me.

Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. You can waive this insurance by ticking the box at checkout, but if you choose to do so, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. I STRONGLY recommend using the Route service: UPS & USPS are notorious for denying claims, especially if a package is lost or stolen rather than broken. Route only requires you to fill out an online form & they pay out immediately without fuss. I make no money on any insurance premiums collected- The service is provided only for your benefit.

- We are happy to ship worldwide once again! Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout. Customers are responsible for being aware of and paying any necessary customs fees your country may charge. I am not responsible for packages abandoned at the post office due to unpaid fees.
