“Dedicated to the memory of my beloved father.” 🥀 This piece is really special: The black and white Victorian embossed and die cut memorials I love so much are scarce enough, but I’ve only had one before that was colored. I think it was about 3 years ago and it was also European- I think Belgian or German. In addition to the familiar imagery of willows and the broken column, there’s an extra layer of symbolism here through color: A poignant sunset offset by the gold Dresden paper. Translation:
You rest here, beneath this peaceful shade
The angels led you to this place of repose
Pain and sorrow are our lot-
Your memory alone remains beyond the tomb
But God is not cruel, no- God is not barbaric
All that is for our good will be carried out through him
He reunites on high what he separates here,
All that he takes from us, he will one day return.
Both print and wooden frame are in excellent condition.

- All sales are FINAL. I strive to provide clear photos & accurate information for every item, & to anticipate any questions you may have. SHIPPING
- Orders ship once a week. If you need something by a certain date, please let me know before purchasing. I am almost always able to accommodate requests.
- Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. If you choose not to insure your order, I will not be held responsible for lost or stolen packages.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
- If you are outside the US & would like to purchase something, please message me to arrange payment either through Paypal invoice or through our Etsy outpost. I am not currently taking international orders on this website due to a problem with Shopify's shipping calculator.
