Superb Victorian hair work bracelet, c. 1860s. This style of jewelry is known as table work after the round table used in the weaving- the process is similar to making bobbin lace, where different clusters of strands are weighted down and then crossed in a certain pattern to make different shapes. These patterns were available in the ladies’ magazines of the time. Women made them at home then took the finished hair work to a jeweler to put the hardware on. Although many people think that all hair work was just for mourning, most pieces like this were generally sentimental, family keepsakes rather than memorials specifically.
This one is in outstanding condition without any fraying or hair loss. All the ends are tight and secure in their settings. Extremely wearable. Refer to photos for size.

RETURN POLICY
- All sales are FINAL. I strive to provide clear photos & accurate information for every item, & to anticipate any questions you may have. It is the buyer's responsibility to examine these photos clearly & read the description in full before purchasing. If you have any other questions or require further views, you've only to ask.
- No cancellations.
SHIPPING
- Orders ship once a week. If you need something by a certain date, please let me know before purchasing. I am almost always able to accommodate requests.
Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. You can waive this insurance by ticking the box at checkout, but if you choose to do so, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. I STRONGLY recommend using the Route service: UPS & USPS are notorious for denying claims, especially if a package is lost or stolen rather than broken. Route only requires you to fill out an online form & they pay out immediately without fuss. I make no money on any insurance premiums collected- The service is provided only for your benefit.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
- We are happy to ship worldwide once again! Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout. Customers are responsible for being aware of and paying any necessary customs fees your country may charge. I am not responsible for packages abandoned at the post office due to unpaid fees.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- I do not do "holds," reserves, or payment plans. However, if you need help with financing, many safe & easy options are available to you at checkout, including Shop Pay.
