Exquisite 19th century devotional shadowbox from Germany made of plaster and glass with a wax Pietà inside and paper & cloth flowers. There should be 7 paper blades stuck into the Madonna, representing the seven sorrows, but I guess this one has a couple extra woes. In Europe these pieces are known as klosterarbeiten: cloister work done by nuns (and less frequently, brothers). Refer to photos for size and condition: Some wear to the reverse painted glass associated with age and a couple loose flowers.
