Gorgeous antique engraving dated 1796 of the medieval King Arthur’s Round Table at Winchester Castle, painted in the late 13th century during the reign of King Edward I, who loved Arthurian legends. Scholars guess it was painted for a tournemant. The table measures a whopping 18 feet in diameter and hangs on the castle walls at over 1 tonne! The Tudor rose at the center was painted during the reign of Henry the 8th.
This 18th century engraving of the table is presented in a plain wood, antique Arts & Crafts style frame. Refer to photos for condition. Very good! Measures about 12” tall.
