The Insect World; Being a Popular Account of the Orders of Insects, Together with a Description of the Habits and Economy of Some of the Most Interesting Species by Louis Figuier, 1869. Bound in dark orange cloth covered boards with a blindstamped and gilded spine. Richly illustrated in both marginal and full page black and white engravings- over 500! I especially love all the beautiful moths. Condition is good overall with some chipping at the top of the spine. The textblock is sound, but a little loose: The book has been read and studied over the years. Nevertheless, the pages are clean and without markings, notes, dogeared pages, or tears.
