Nothing amuses quite like turn of the century satire to do with the advancement of women and changing gender roles. It’s usually a lot of hysterical whining and handwringing from men who are annoyed that women started doing things like wearing breeches and getting jobs and demanding the right to vote. How little things have changed! More of the same here in this large format book from the 1890s. The illustrations are incredibly funny. I especially love the cover emblem depicting the evolution of women’s dressing as the legs of a triskelion symbol: Skirt, bloomer, breeches!
The interior of the book is in excellent condition though there is sun fading & some soiling to the green cloth cover. Sold as is.
