Gorgeous antique pencil sketch after Gustav Klimt’s Opera design from Allegories & Emblems, 1882. The sketch is dated 1915 (I had to peek beneath the mat to see it). The paper and the manner of drawing are consistent with this date, although I suspect the watercolor background was a later, 20th century addition. Thankfully it does add to, rather than detract from the beauty of the sketch and pairs beautifully with the contemporary, powder blue mat. Presented in a gilded antique frame. Refer to photos for size and condition: Overall very good with a small brown stain on the left side, shown.
