The Future Eve is a symbolist science fiction novel by the French author Auguste Villiers de l'Isle-Adam. Begun in 1878 and originally published in 1886, the novel is known for popularizing the term "Android.” The figure of the bionic woman went on to have many subsequent depictions in movies like Metropolis and Stepford Wives. This is a 1957 reissue from Club du Meilleur Livre bound in a blindstamped, velveteen or velour binding and featuring wonderful illustrations by Jacques Noël. Condition is very good with some minor fading to the cloth.
