March 1923 issue of International Studio, an arts and design magazine that operated between 1897-1931, containing a cover feature on Léon Bakst. He was one of many artists in the circle of Sergei Diaghilev, founder of the Ballet Russes, who revolutionized the art form in the early 20th century. Bakst was a painter who designed costumes and sets. His concept paintings are considered works of art in their own right, as evinced by this striking cover painting from Nikolai Tcherepnin's "Narcisse et Echo, Opus 40." Condition is good overall: Binding is tight but there is some wear around the edges of the fragile paper covers and flaking of the spine. Binding is tight and sound.

- We are happy to ship worldwide once again! Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout. Customers are responsible for being aware of and paying any necessary customs fees your country may charge. I am not responsible for packages abandoned at the post office due to unpaid fees.
