Late 19th century guide to etiquette for ladies, a fascinating primary source demonstrating what society’s expectations for women were at the time. I always think it’s so interesting to see what advice remains evergreen, what we’ve moved on from, and what terrible advice we’ve yet to move on from at all! Mourning enthusiasts will love the guide to bereavement etiquette in the final chapter, but the book covers everything from courting to personal hygeine to receiving guests and hosting parties. Bound in mustard colored cloth blindstamped with silver and gold. Condition is good with bumped corners, edgewear, and a slightly shaky spine. Interior is very good. Several black and white engravings throughout.
