Early 20th century sacred heart of Jesus embroidery with IHS at the bottom. Very good condition with some tanning to the linen from age. These devotional embroideries are an example of the crafts that cloistered nuns or monks made and sold to raise money for their institutions. They were very common in Catholic households, though increasingly rare to find as they’ve enjoyed renewed popularity among religious and secular collectors alike. This was in a rather drab frame when I found it and an even worse make-do mat cut from grey paper. I removed and restored it with acid free paper in a much, much finer Victorian frame that shows off the embroidery’s beauty to its best advantage. Refer to photos for size.

RETURN POLICY
- All sales are FINAL. I strive to provide clear photos & accurate information for every item, & to anticipate any questions you may have. It is the buyer's responsibility to examine these photos clearly & read the description in full before purchasing. If you have any other questions or require further views, you've only to ask.
- No cancellations.
SHIPPING
- Orders ship once a week. If you need something by a certain date, please let me know before purchasing. I am almost always able to accommodate requests.
Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. You can waive this insurance by ticking the box at checkout, but if you choose to do so, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. I STRONGLY recommend using the Route service: UPS & USPS are notorious for denying claims, especially if a package is lost or stolen rather than broken. Route only requires you to fill out an online form & they pay out immediately without fuss. I make no money on any insurance premiums collected- The service is provided only for your benefit.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
- We are happy to ship worldwide once again! Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout. Customers are responsible for being aware of and paying any necessary customs fees your country may charge. I am not responsible for packages abandoned at the post office due to unpaid fees.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- I do not do "holds," reserves, or payment plans. However, if you need help with financing, many safe & easy options are available to you at checkout, including Shop Pay.
