These extremely rare, 19th century antique punchwork embroideries likely came from a masonic lodge. They depict columns & globes & bear the famous masonic saying, “We meet upon the level, we part upon the square,” used to adjourn meetings or gatherings. It means that everyone shares openly and honestly, meeting and parting in peace with mutual respect. Each embroidery is in its original wooden frame, measuring 23” x 10.5”. Condition is good overall with some small flaws, including damp stains & insect damage. Refer to photos.
