“Mary Gregory glass” refers to a style of painted glassware first manufactured in 1879 that usually depicts children in white enamel silhouettes. Sometimes you see flesh colored overpainting or outlining, but the enamel is almost always entirely white. I like them because the figures remind me of little ghosts.
The style came to be known as “Mary Gregory” due to misattribution: For reasons lost to time, collectors in the 1920s started circulating a story about an apocryphal Mary Gregory who worked at the famed Sandwich Glass Company in Cape Cod. Funnily enough, even today, some dealers on the field will try to sell you on a piece of glassware by suggesting, with no evidence, “It might be Sandwich.” No one knows exactly who originated these, but they can be found in catalogs from Bohemia & Germany before 1880. Similar pieces were made right through the 1930s.
This simple, handblown glass tumbler is Victorian and features a girl holding flowers in outstretched hands. Some collectors keep their glasses in the kitchen; others for display. I like to repurpose them to hold pens or flowers.

- Orders ship once a week. If you need something by a certain date, please let me know before purchasing. I am almost always able to accommodate requests.
Insurance is automatically added to every order for a very small fee, via the service Route. You can waive this insurance by ticking the box at checkout, but if you choose to do so, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. I STRONGLY recommend using the Route service: UPS & USPS are notorious for denying claims, especially if a package is lost or stolen rather than broken. Route only requires you to fill out an online form & they pay out immediately without fuss. I make no money on any insurance premiums collected- The service is provided only for your benefit.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
- We are happy to ship worldwide once again! Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout. Customers are responsible for being aware of and paying any necessary customs fees your country may charge. I am not responsible for packages abandoned at the post office due to unpaid fees.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- I do not do "holds," reserves, or payment plans. However, if you need help with financing, many safe & easy options are available to you at checkout, including Shop Pay.
