This exquisite antique jacket dates to the 1920s and was fashioned from a black silk embroidered piano shawl. Still in fine enough shape to wear and best of all? It’s reversible! I like the red flowers best, even though the seams show on that side. The beautiful orange and gold embroidery pairs perfectly with gold jewelry!
The jacket is loose fitting and will fit a variety of sizes. It measures approximately 17” in between the shoulder seams, 18” across the bust, and 34” long. There is an additional 10” of fringe at the bottom, taking the entire length to about 44”.
The jacket is in good condition overall with some very small holes, as shown, which I would have patched by your tailor if you plan for this to get a lot of wear. I also recommend storing it neatly folded rather than on a hanger: Hanging can put stress on the silk.
