Charming, extremely unusual turn of the century antique box carved from alabaster with a little brass spider embedded in the lid. Just the right size for rings or studs. If you’re planning an engagement, this would make the most extravagant & luxurious presentation box I can imagine. Refer to photos for size & condition: Overall good with some darkening to the alabaster & a hairline crack on the bottom. Not a surface crack: It’s deep inside the stone. The spider is secure, but can be swiveled around.
I cannot tell you why this little fellow has only 6 legs, but this is not the first time I’ve seen a 6-legged spider in antiques from this era. I suspect it was easier & cheaper from a manufacturing standpoint to do 6 rather than 8. Be advised, this is simply how the piece was made; there are no legs broken off or missing.

Be advised that there's no way for us to know on our end what your customs fees, if any, might be: Shopify doesn't calculate or charge international buyers for customs fees at checkout.
