Wonderful Victorian edition of Bullfinch’s Mythology, still a widely read and enjoyed work by all enthusiasts of mythology and legends. 1874 reprint of the 1855 edition bound in brown cloth with a blindstamped mythological illustration on the cover. Numerous, beautiful, black and white marginal illustrations throughout but also, a previous owner pasted in several black and white prints of mythological paintings. This was probably done around the early 1900s, judging by the dates of the paintings. A little extra interest! Condition is good with a bit of a shaky spine and edgewear.
