victorian-moss-ware-hand-vase-bevington-elfinware
Victorian Moss Ware Hand Vase | Bevington Elfinware

One of the most interesting & unusual Victorian hand vases I’ve seen. The dealer thought it might be Bennington, who did indeed manufacture some of the finest parian hand vases in the 19th century. They were a few consonants off: It’s not Bennington, but Bevington, known for moss ware ceramics. Sometimes it’s also called “elfinware,” which is so charming- it features textured areas that look like moss & applied flowers. Very rare to find a hand vase in this style; I could only find one other! Measures about 8” tall in very good condition overall with some inconspicuous chips to one or two flowers.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0615/2188/7432/files/24C3F6D1-6525-4F15-9E91-0E8006520A8C.jpg?v=1777822036
