This early to mid 20th century home shrine consists of a chalkware statue of the Pieta behind reverse painted glass. The compartment at the bottom contains a last rites kit of supplies a priest would need to administer to the dying. These are also called Extreme Unction or Sick Call kits. This one contains absorbent cotton, a few dried palm leaves, candles, a crucifix, and a plastic holy water bottle shaped like the Madonna, which still contains some holy water. The candles go in the holders fixed inside the lid of the bottom compartment.
The piece is in good condition overall with some clouding to the glass and minor wear from age. The paper at the back is a little flakey. Fitted to hang from its original wire. Ships free within the US, fully insured.
